Welcome to the 38th Annual Candy Days scheduled for April 26-27, 2024 (and potentially Wednesday, April 24th at only the Chicago train stations). We are excited to announce that we will be both virtual and back out in the community collecting donations for Misericordia this year. It has been 5 years since our families and friends went out into our local communities. Despite sore feet, this annual event was one that many of our family and friends looked forward to as it not only raised much needed funds for Misericordia but it served as a testament to our belief in the mission.
This year we are asking you to do both - set up a family giving page and volunteer your time to help publicly display our support for the mission of and raise funds for Misericordia. We are so grateful to everyone for the support you provided over the past 4 years with our virtual campaigns. Last year, families and friends established 443 fundraising pages that reached 10,721 donors and raised more than $2 million! With the added presence of our families and friends in the community this year, we are confident that not only will we exceed last year’s donation totals but will promote the importance of Misericordia’s mission to our fellow citizens.
Candy Days is Misericordia’s largest fundraising event. Your family fundraising page is a key contributor. As the cost to provide high quality care for our residents continues to rise, we need significant participation both “virtually” and “physically” by all of our families to reach our annual Candy Days goal of over $2 million. This year we truly believe that once again we can ALL rally together to reach and possibly surpass this amount if everyone, including Coordinators, Volunteers, Misericordia families and friends can make it a priority to create a giving page and volunteer their time to stand publicly in their communities.
Please note we are not allowed to stand in the streets or walk in between cars this year. We only have permits to collect in front of stores, train stations and sidewalks.

Information on how to set up your giving page and a giving page example are provided below. Once you have created your giving page, don’t forget to send it to friends, through e-mail, and share to your social media outlets. Your family and friends can make donations at every level, just like Candy Days.
